Colleen Berumen 

Colleen has lived in the beautiful city of Vacaville for 35 years and has been married to her wonderful husband, Ralph, for 30 years. She has been an entrepreneur for many years owning different types of businesses. Colleen enjoys being involved in her community by volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader, Product Manager for Vacaville Girl Scouts, being an Ambassador with the Chamber of Commerce, as well as many other volunteer positions she has taken with different associations.

Matt Hefner

Matt Hefner was born and raised here in Vacaville. He has two brothers, an older and a younger, and two very loving parents. Matt graduated from Vacaville High School, and in March of 2008 he graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Economics and a minor in psychology. In November of 2008 he signed a contract to work with Mass Mutual as a financial Services Professional. Matt finds a tremendous amount of intrinsic joy through the work he does with his clients. Matt loves competition and playing team sports and over the last five years he has leant a hand in coaching the Vacaville Blackdog Rugby Club. He is eager to grow both personally and professionally and to work diligently toward his goals. Matt would like to make a significant positive impact upon those he interacts with so that he may bring value to one another and his community.

Rhonda Martin

Rhonda Martin

Rhonda hails from Vacaville, California, where she has lived and worked since 1996. Prior to that time, she lived in Japan, the Mid-West, and the East Coast as she traversed the world following and supporting her Air Force military spouse. Rhonda has been married for 21 years to her soldier husband (who has served in both Afghanistan and Iraq) and they have two lovely boys, 16 and 18 years of age respectively. Her oldest son recently obtained his Eagle Scout, graduated from Vaca High, and followed his father's example to serve our great country by joining the Army.

Professionally, Rhonda has been actively involved in the health care arena for over 20 years with the past 10 years working for NorthBay Healthcare System. Her nursing experience is diverse spanning bedside nursing as well as management roles in the NICU, quality and utilization management, infection control and prevention, contract management, centralized staffing, and currently director of medical & surgical services. Rhonda's professional experience includes working in civilian and military acute care health facilities and as a quality consultant for a county-affiliated medical insurance health plan. She holds a registered nursing degree, a healthcare administration degree, a national certification in healthcare quality, and she is currently completing a master's degree in healthcare leadership at Gonzaga University where she was recently inducted into the National Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society.

Rhonda has served as both a cub and Boy Scout leader since 1998 positively influencing the youth in our community. She has been an active participant supporting the Vacaville Unified School district volunteering many hours in the school, participating on a strategic planning action team and producing the 1999 Strategic Plan for the Board of Education, and logged many hours in support of local legislative efforts to support our schools.

Rhonda's hobbies include anything involving the great outdoors and activity! Running, hiking, and camping are favorite pastimes.

In 2004, the US Air Force brought Ivan to Vacaville as his wife was stationed at Travis AFB. Prior to her separation from the military in 2007, frequent moves took Ivan and his family from Washington DC, to Hawaii to California where he has worked as a high school teacher and in the private equity and banking industries. Now with Travis Credit Union in the Corporate Finance department, Ivan has had the opportunity to participate in helping to allocate resources from an array of perspectives. In each instance, whether academic or financial, he believes a key to success is to make resources available to individuals intent on developing and expanding them for the betterment of the group – both large and small. Whether it is a high school graduate or an entrepreneur with a business loan, these resolute people are in a better position to help our society because of the resources invested in them by others.

Diana Sullivan

Diana Sullivan

Diana has more than 20 years experience in cardiac service line development, healthcare administration, operations, strategic planning, project development, communications, medical education, budge management, and quality improvement. She recently built NorthBay Healthcare's Open Heart Surgery Program and currently developing the PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) Lab with collaborative support from hospital administration. Diana has had complete administrative responsibility for six cardiology cost centers with 60 full time employees, over 20 fellows, six medical directors, liaison to 60 physicians, and a $14 million budget. She is known for excellence in building programs, expanding service lines, continuing medical education programming, outstanding leadership and communications that engendered positive public relations within the hospital and throughout the community.

Sally Miller Wyatt is a freelance writer and corporate communications and public relations specialist, working for a variety of clients in the newspaper, healthcare, insurance and construction management industries. Prior to starting her own business, she worked as a corporate communications specialist for Bechtel Group, Inc.'s public relations department, and as an editor for San Francisco Magazine. She is proud to have served as editorial coordinator for the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce's Comments newsletter since 2005. Sally is currently a member of the Vacaville Public Education Foundation Board of Directors, serving on the board's allocations and marketing committees. She and her husband, Tom, have lived in Vacaville since 1987, and have raised three children – Tom, Richard and Sarah – here. 

Judith A. Everett

Judith A. Everett

Judith's employment background is in various management positions, such as retail, hospital, restaurant, some government volunteer work, law firms, banking, the arts, and education. She has studied/majored in Fine Arts, Drama Theatre; Interior Design; Engineering; Management; Law: Business and Public Administration. This background enables Judith to relate to the people involved in various occupations with an appreciation for the work involved.

Recently during her master's degree work, she was a candidate in our local county election, having previously been elected in volunteer and student government types of organizations. Although not elected in November 2008, running was a great learning experience for her and she enjoyed meeting concerned citizens and the other candidates. At present, Judith is a single mother and a doctoral student pursuing the doctor of Management in organizational leadership at the University of Phoenix online. She is considering starting a consulting services company.

Julia Lopez

Julia Lopez – Vacaville Sanitary Service

Julia is the Recycling Manager and Public Relations for Vacaville Sanitary Service. She has been employed with Vacaville Sanitary Service for 23 years. She is a graduate of Armijo High School and Sacramento State University. She is active in the communities of both Vacaville and Dixon. She is on the board of Rotary Books to Africa , Dixon Rotary Club (Past President), Norcal Employees Communication Committee and various volunteer activities. Julia lives with her husband Sam on their five acre ranch in Vacaville where they enjoy spending time with family and friends. In her spare time Julia enjoys riding her horse and playing with her two golden retrievers.

Healther Devaney

Healther Devaney – First 5 Solano

Healther Devaney grew up in Cordelia and moved to Vacaville in 2001. The daughter of a policeman and a pediatrics nurse, Heather was raised to be aware of the importance of giving back to the community. Heather began her career with Solano County in 2001 and is currently an Administrative Secretary for First 5 Solano, which funds programs for children ages 0-5 in Solano County. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time going on adventures with her husband Butch and her five year old son, Aidan.

Daman Mott

Daman Mott – NorthBay Healthcare

The health care career of Daman Mott, a nursing director with NorthBay Healthcare, spans 16 years. The Vacaville resident has experience in human resources, emergency medical services, disaster preparedness and trauma nursing in a variety of hospital and military field settings. He earned a degree from Indiana State University’s School of Nursing and graduated Cum Laude in Public Administration from Upper Iowa University. He directs Clinical Support Services and Infection Control at both NorthBay Medical Center and VacaValley Hospital. A decorated officer of the Armed Forces; his 15-year military career spanned three wars and four continents. He has served on the board of Federal Employees Credit Union and on the Site Counsel of Travis Elementary School.

He is a volunteer for NorthBay Healthcare Foundation and Guild and for Browns Valley Elementary School. He is an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He and his wife of 13 years, Deanna, who is a Nurse Recruitment and Retention Specialist at NorthBay, chose Vacaville as their hometown he was honorably discharged September 2007. When not working, he stays busy chasing after 2 pre-teen (or “tweens,” as they call it) daughters, Damanique (12) and Delaney (10). Daman enjoys softball, volleyball, fishing, history, collecting antiques and spending time traveling with his family.

Deanna Mott

Deanna Mott - Northbay Healthcare

Deanna obtained her B.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Northern Iowa and worked as a computer graphics specialist and freelance designer before joining the Army. As a military police and later a Patriot Missile officer she had the opportunity to participate in various peace keeping missions, jump out of planes, and of course travel. While at her last assignment on active duty she was chosen as the Foreign Dignitary Liaison Officer for the 52nd ADA Battalion; working with and training NATO senior officers on the air defense system interoperability. After her military career, she worked as project manager for a steel fabrication company, and was a human resource manager for a petroleum company. After eight major moves in the past 13 years, Vacaville is now home. Deanna works at NorthBay HealthCare in the Nurse Recruitment & Retention office coordinating various programs as well as auditing the patient acuity system. She will be starting on her MBA in January and in her spare time enjoys traveling with her family, running, and reading.

Kimberley Forrest

Kimberley Forrest - Padan Elementary

Kimberley Forrest is the Principal of Alamo Elementary, Vacaville Unified School District. Kim and her family moved to Vacaville in 1986. Kim graduated from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. She began her career in education at Turner Elementary in Houston, Texas. She taught for a 17 years at Alamo Elementary, was Assistant Principal at Cooper Elementary and principal at Padan Elementary prior to returning to Alamo. Kim holds a Masters in Education from the University of Houston.

Kim enjoys reading, swimming, and gardening.

Kim and her husband are twenty-three year residents of Vacaville. Ed is a bank manager at US Bank in Vacaville. Kim and Ed have two daughters, Elizabeth and Molly. Elizabeth attends Southern Oregon University and Molly attends Sonoma State University.

Clarence W. Lukes Jr. - US Air Force

Clarence W. Lukes Jr. is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force, and is assigned to Travis AFB as Squadron Commander under the 615th Contingency Response Wing. He has served in the Air Force for over 16 years as an C-130 Pilot with over 2,800 flying hours, and has held a variety of assignments including working at Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon in Washington DC. He lives in Vacaville with his wife Michelle, who is due in October, and daughter Paige.

Navneet "Nav" Khanna - Travis Credit Union

Navneet "Nav" Khanna is the Senior Vice President, Finance & Risk Management and CFO at Travis Credit Union.

Nav joined the credit union in April 2007, with responsibilities for planning, directing, organizing, and controlling the financial activities of the organization. He oversees financial and cost accounting and reporting, corporate finance, treasury, and regulatory compliance and risk management functions.

Nav brings depth to the management team with an international finance perspective from working in global and domestic financial services since 1987 and the credit union industry since 2001. Nav earned his BA in finance and economics at the University of Toronto in Canada and a MBA in international business and finance at the University of Hartford in Paris, France and West Harford, Connecticut. Nav was voted to the Credit Union Executive Society Rising 100 List in 2006 and has earned his Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation

Alex Hall

Alex Hall - Vacaville Chamber

A 1989 graduate of Vacaville High School he and his family moved to California in 1984 with his step father being stationed here at Travis Air Force Base from Germany. After a couple years of playing college basketball for his local community college, he obtained a job picking the driving range at Chardonnay Golf Club in Napa. A few months of picking the range and taking care of the outside service portion of the golf course he tested for professional status at the Northern California Players Ability Test. He was fortunate enough to win the test against 90 other fellow competitors with rounds of 74-72. In six years as a golf professional, he was able to teach hundreds of clinics, lessons, and corporate outing for members and non-members. One member in particular liked his teaching style and his performance on the golf course and arranged a sponsorship for him to travel to Australia in 1999 to compete.

In 2003 he joined the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce as the Program Development Director facilitating all of the Chamber’s events and planning fundraisers. In 2006 he assumed the role of Vice President of Operations at the Vacaville Chamber and continues to help build business prosperity in the region.

On a personal note, he is married to Lisa and has two children Madeline (3) and Ian (1) a dog - Guinness. They live in Vacaville together since getting married in 2001.

John Carbone

John J. Carbone - Kaiser Permanente

John Carbone has been with Kaiser Permanente for over 25 years. He is currently the Area Pharmacy Director Kaiser's Napa/Solano Service Area, where he oversees all Pharmacy Services for the Kaiser Permanente facilities in Vallejo, Napa, Fairfield, and Vacaville. John's office is at the Vacaville site, and he is intimately involved in the planning of the new hospital that Kaiser Permanente will be opening in Vacaville in the Spring of 2009. Although they live in Yolo County, John's wife Patty also works at the Kaiser Vacaville facility as a Diabetes Case Manager. John is an avid outdoorsman whose main hobbies are fishing, golf, and picking the banjo.

Khristie LuMaye is the Manager of The Target Publications Department for The Reporter, The Woodland Daily Democrat and Vallejo Times Herald. She has worked in the Advertising industry for the past 16 Years for both newspapers and direct mail companies. Khristie was raised in Vacaville and graduated from Vacaville High School and then attended Sacramento City College as a Business Major. Khristie and her husband Eric live in Vacaville and are raising two girls, Sara age 14 and Samantha, age 5.

Justin English

Justin English - Premier Commercial

Justin English, Sales associate for Premier Commercial, was raised in Vacaville, California and is a 1997 graduate of Vacaville High School. Premier Commercial provides real estate services to business owners and investors by helping buy, sell or lease commercial property. Since joining Premier Commercial, Justin has closed several leases and recently helped Metro Candy, a 21,000 square foot candy processing and packaging facility, find their location here in Vacaville. Justin is a member of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce and represents them as an Ambassador at various events throughout the year. Justin is very involved in the local cycling community. His first job growing up was at Ray’s Cycle working for the Posey’s. He often is involved in the local Monticello Cycling Club rides.

Olivia Trudell

Olivia Trudell - CAL INC

Olivia Trudell was raised and lived in Vacaville most of her life. She is a graduate of Will C. Wood High School and California State University, Sacramento. She is currently the Vice President of Contracts & Preconstruction for CAL INC, a family owned, local construction and remediation company. She lives in Dixon with her husband Michael and daughter Brooklynn, and she enjoys taking business trips and vacations with her family. She is active in the community and is the current chairperson for an local non-profit called Stan Foster Memorial Golf Tournament.

Alex Berger is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force, and is assigned to Travis AFB as Squadron Commander under the 615th Contingency Response Wing. He has served in the Air Force for over 16 years as an intelligence officer, and has held a variety of assignments including working in a fighter squadron in Germany and as a Latin America analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington DC. He lives in Vacaville with his wife Samantha, daughter Emily, and son Joshua.

Kari Rader

Kari Rader - Vacaville Social Services Corporation

Kari Rader is a San Francisco native who has lived in Vacaville since 1999. Kari graduated from San Francisco University High School and the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Sociology. Mrs. Rader’s background is in retail sales and business management. She is currently the Executive Director of Vacaville Social Services Corporation, operators of Opportunity House, Opportunity House Thrift Store and the transitional housing program; Helping Hands for the Homeless. Kari’s mission is to serve the homeless and disenfranchised that come to Opportunity House by providing services to these clients. Our goals are that clients find permanent housing become employed and self-sufficient contributors to our community. She is married to John Rader and has a daughter in elementary school, enjoys time with her family, boating and cooking. Kari is a Soroptimist International of Vacaville and sits on the Vacaville Community Welfare Association Board and Northern Solano County Advisory Board.

Shea McGuire

Shea McGuire- Coldwell Banker

Shea McGuire was born and raised in Vacaville and currently works as a Real Estate Agent at Coldwell Banker. She is a graduate of Vacaville High and Loyola Marymount University. During college Shea spent 1 year working with the Peace Corps Fellowship Tutorial program in Watts, LA. After College she spent 2 years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Belize teaching pregnant teens as well as directing adult health-education classes. She returns 1-2 times a year to check-in on the adult programs, visit former students, and build on a piece of land she owns. In 2001, Shea ventured to Ghana, West Africa with Cross Cultural Solutions to teach Math and Science to middle school children in a small village. Shea moved back to the US and spent 2 years living and teaching in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood. Shea moved back to Vacaville in 2003 to get into the family business with her father, Paul McGuire, a real estate developer, investor and entrepreneur. Shea married Ireland native, Michael Keane, in 2006 and they began to plant their roots in the Vacaville community that Shea loved as a child. Together they have been successful in real estate investment and re-development. Their current project is re-habilitating a historical building on Main Street in Downtown Vacaville. Shea has been involved with fundraising for Opportunity House and has volunteered with many local charities. Shea is excited to continue to make positive contributions to the Vacaville Community and make sure it is a wonderful place to raise her family!

Alexa Roemer has worked in Vacaville at Genentech since 2000 and she is currently a Supervisor in Manufacturing. She is a graduate of the University of California at Davis with a degree in Biological Sciences. She lives in Vacaville with her husband Chad. In her free time, Alexa enjoys running, reading, and cycling.

Tracy Mitchell moved to Vacaville in 1989. Before starting his own company Trade Mark Advertising in 2004 Tracy spent 20 years in media sales and sales training. In 1994 Tracy married his Portuguese Princess Joyce they now have two beautiful daughters; Abigail 9 and Isabelle 5. Although Tracy and Joyce Mitchell grew up and lived in different parts of the state they have truly found a home here in Vacaville. Tracy has served as President of the Vacaville Kiwanis club, General Chairman for Vacaville Fiesta Days and is currently serving on the board of directors for Vacaville Rotary. When not working or volunteering, Tracy enjoys time with his girls, golfing and the company of good friends.

Ginger Holguin

Ginger Holguin - A Stroke of Magic

My Name is Ginger Rae Holguin. I have lived in Vacaville for 10 years. I was born in Lincoln, Illinois and raised in Fresno, California. I have two children Dawson 8, and Dakota 10. I have an amazing, wonderful, and very supportive husband, Robert Ray Holguin. Until recently, I worked as a Director of Operations for a large Dental Management Company running 19 dental offices and a sales team. Additionally, I was responsible for all union negotiations. I resigned my position and left the corporate world and along with my husband we decided to pursue a dream and journey together. We opened A Stroke of Magic on June 1, 2007. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering at my children’s school, and spending time with my family. My hobbies include: painting, snow boarding, and scuba diving.

Al Arevalo is president of Just4Kicks Soccer Inc. and a Spanish speaking loan consultant with KMG Real Estate Finance. He has lived in Vacaville with his wife and three children for the past five years. His passions are soccer, business, and real estate.

Allan Haddox - Phillippi Engineering

Allan F. Haddox II - A long time resident of Vacaville and graduate of Vaca High School, returned to Vacaville with his wife and three children after graduating from college and entering the workplace. Employed as the engineering department manager at Phillippi Engineering, a local civil engineering firm specializing in land development, he strives to create community based developments to enhance the growing needs of the Vacaville community. Vacaville has a special family oriented community feel that brought me back, and I want to see that this philosophy continues to be a priority for our children as they grow up.

Barry Nelson

Barry Nelson - Travis Credit Union

Barry Nelson joined Travis Credit Union in January of 2000 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Barry has oversight of the credit union's financial statements, general ledger, accounting systems, asset liability management, investments, financial analysis, budgeting and collections. He also oversees compliance, process improvement, network security, and the brokerage program at the credit union. He has worked in credit unions for over 16 years. Barry, a native Californian, has lived in Vacaville since 1990. Together, with his wife of 18 years, they raise their 12 year old daughter. Barry is actively involved in youth soccer.

Brett Johnson has lived in Vacaville for 16 years and recently graduated from San Diego State University in 2005 with a B.A. in Psychology. He currently works as a Realtor for Kappel & Kappel and is in the process of applying for a Master of Science in Urban Land Development at Sac State. He is also the youngest member of the Leadership Vacaville team.

I attended University of California, Riverside and returned home to Vacaville to join my family. I am a marketing representative for Chicago Title Vacaville, and enjoy my job immensely. I love playing tennis and staying active in this great community.

Hi, I'm Stephen Pierce. I am a dad of two, soon to be a granddad. My wife is a school teacher and we make our home in Dixon. I've worked public relations, journalism and marketing. I use all those skills sets in my job now to support Supervisor Mike Reagan.

Jamie Hearn has lived in Vacaville for her whole life. Jamie graduated from Vacaville High School then moved onto get a double major in Business and Finance from the University of San Francisco. She has been with Hearn Construction for two years working on construction development projects and construction marketing. For the past two years Jamie has also been involved with fundraisers benefiting both VPEF and Vacaville's Opportunity House. She looks forward to learning more about Vacaville and becoming a great influence on the town and its community.

John Alexander Wilkerson was born and raised in Vacaville to Jerry and Shereene Wilkerson. After graduating from Vacaville High School, he attended the University of Michigan. He now works for Gateway Realty as a realtor and continues working with several community service groups he began working with in high school.

Lauren Osborn was born and raised here in Vacaville. After graduating from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco she moved back to Vacaville and became very involved in the community. She is a board member of the Vacaville Rotary club, an Ambassador to the Chamber of Commerce and involved in the Harvest Days committee including a performance as a live scarecrow!

Mark Feaster

Mark Feaster - ALZA Corporation

Mark Feaster has lived and worked in Vacaville for the last 18years. Mark has worked all 18 years for ALZA Corporation in Vacaville where he is currently the Director of OROS Manufacturing. Mark jumped at the chance to move to Vacaville from the Bay Area in 1987 because he believed that the Vacaville area was one of the best area's to raise his family. Mark is passionate about his community and has been very active in the community activities and groups over the last 18years. Mark has served as a coach for numerous youth sports, a Boy Scout leader, and a member of several community groups such as Youth Roundtable and VPEF. Mark's support comes from his family who too are very active in the community; Mary his wife is a scout leader (boy/girl scout) and soccer coach. Mark has 3 sons (all Eagle Scouts), 2 at UC's, one at Vacaville High School and one beautiful daughter (a scout too) who all have benefited from Vacaville's great community and schools! Mark is proud to be part of the 1st Leadership Vacaville group and is excited about the opportunity to continue to improve the Vacaville Community.

My name is Jonathan Caraballo, I was born in Newark, NJ, and I'm one of 16 siblings. I've been married for almost 4 years and my wife and I became proud parents to a daughter, our first child, in October. I moved to California from Florida in 2002 after enlisting in the USAF in which I served for 3 years active duty then transferred to the USAFR. I currently work for Mariani Packing Co. as their Network Administrator

My name is Karen Seymour. I have 2 beautiful children ages 11 and 8. I was born in San Bruno and lived there until 1999 when I moved to Vacaville. I have been in banking since I was 17 years old and currently work for First Northern Bank. I love to watch football and have just started taking golf lessons.

Scott Pardini has lived in Vacaville since he was 2 years old and is a graduate of Vacaville High School. He has worked for Vacaville Sanitary Service and its sister company, Vallejo Garbage Service since high school and through college. He is now the Operations Manager of Vacaville Sanitary Service. He lives here in Vacaville with his wife Holly, daughter Kolby and son Kody. While away from work, Scott enjoys the outdoors including camping, wakeboarding, and hunting.

Sonia Rodriguez is the owner and lead designer of Pixel Rhythms, a multimedia design studio. She has her B.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis on Digital Media and a certificate in Web Design from CSU, Sacramento. Sonia is currently a member of Serving Our Latinos Board of Directors, a non-profit organization that promotes healthy living of diverse communities in Solano County. She is a third-generation Vacavillian, her great-grandmother was one of the first downtown business owners. Sonia has a particular passion for the performing arts. She also enjoys salsa dancing, hula and belly dancing and is a proud parent of a beautiful seven year old, Victoria.

Tracee Scott has worked in the senior housing industry since the ripe old age of 20. She has spent the last seven years working with seniors and their families in many capacities including counseling families through the continuum of care from independent living to assisted living. She has become a leading senior care and information expert for Solano County and surrounding areas. Through the years she has become passionate about serving her community and help set the stage for advocacy in Solano County. Currently she is the owner/publisher of the local Prime Time Seniors Magazine. This is the correlation of her vision to make information for aging adults easily accessible and relevant to the times. She is proud and humbled to be serving the seniors in her community

Venis Jones Boyd

Venis Jones Boyd - First 5 Solano

Venis Jones Boyd has been a resident of Solano County for over 40 years. She graduated from Vanden High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. After serving her country, Venis pursued a Marketing degree and attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Upon returning to Solano County, she spent 16 years with Tosco Refining Company as the Environmental Department office manager. A graduate of Saint Mary's College Paralegal Certificate Program and Management Degree Program, she currently works for First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission as the Administrative Secretary. Venis resides in Vacaville with her husband, Jerry.
